First it occurred to me that a possible name for this photo could be "solitude" but the longer I was looking at it, the less I felt attracted by the name. The light and the colours bright the picture up in a very positive way so perhaps instead of being lonely, the pumpkin could be basking in its uniqueness, couldn't it? :)
What a great composition. Sad to say I went with 'fake' pumpkins a few years back for outside decorating...it is cheaper and less messy....now that my 18 year old doesn't see the fun in carving anymore ;)

lovely lighting and excellent colors
Well staged and illuminated – I would take it.

Like Linus waiting for The Great Pumpkin in his most sincere pumpkin patch.
waiting to be carved?
Beautiful image and composition. You are gifted, Marcie.
Waiting for the carving? Maybe hoping this year it will stay whole ;-)
Wonderful composition Marcie :-)
Lovely capture.
Waiting, bright and shinny.
Love pumpkin time!
Wow..how did you do the lighting on this? Just fortuitous circumstance? It really makes that pumpkin pop!
Glowing like a tiny orange sun, within its Halloween-themed color scheme of black, orange and white.
An image that on one level breaks a few of the rules but actually (forget rules) it works magnificently.
I don't know how you do it Marcie...this mundane pumpkin is so special seen from your camera!
i always think of candies when i see these pumpkins.. :D
It's certainly getting me in an autumn state of mind--nicely isolated and composed Marcie
