The Hour Glass

Whereas the landscape is rendered in shades of coppers and gold...there was something quieting about the endless blues and greys. A silver patina. Something soothing...centering..calming.

I see - a bird and her shadow.

I see - simplicity...elegance..long-legged grace.

In the abstract - I see an hourglass forming...an old-fashioned instrument gently marking the passing of time.

Half-empty - maybe. Half-full - for sure. Half-way to 'there'....to wherever 'there' may be. And always right here...today.

Can you..do you - see it too???

And I love how you are able to 'see/read' so much into each image. Such vision. Beautiful.

I know I usually comment mostly on your photos but I forget to make a comment on your writing. And it really is such an important part of your daily postings. What an amazing palette - those cool green/blue shadows and palest copper tones. And the stillness and peace of time passing - through the hour glass, one grain of sand at a time.
