Assemblage

An assemblage of thoughts...of ideas..of 'things'.

A like-minded group gathering together. Differently shaped and sized...but more the same than anything other.

Curvy women and broad-shouldered men. A congregation.

Chess-men....preparing themselves to play.

What is it that you see?

Not even the dogs wanted out on this cold damp and grey rainy day.. And so - I thought - I'd practice indoors. I'd find something. I'd make something. I'd just simply begin..and see where it leads.

Maybe 'collections' will be a new theme? Maybe this will see me thru the wettest of days?

Practice is practice. I do it - no matter whether.

What a fun collection, photographed beautifully. I see all those things you see...I also see that rainy, cold days are going to be fun for you!

Collections sounds like a great theme! It was so interesting to read your narrative while my pokey connection delayed displaying your image, so I was imagining what it could be -- what a surprise and delight! Curvy women and broad shouldered men -- perfect!

Interesting image, I like the lightning.

I see ... looking through the square shoulder bottle 2nd from the right to the big curvy one behind it ... a sleeping or laughing face with crinkled up eyes. Great photo, proving that even rainly days can bring something good.

And if you collect bottles like these, you are definitely up my alley! I love it. YAY for rainy, wet weather.

I love your bottles and analogies, reminds me of how I read that at my time of life you go from being an hour glass to a beer glass!

The green-grey matches the description of the weather. Beautifully captured assemblage!

A beautiful assemblage. Makes me think about my own collections. Lots of books. Lots of baking pans. Lots of plants.

I'm in the northwest for several months - yes - just heading into winter and knowing that more and more and more rain will continue.....so indoor photography is a good idea. I've been getting out in the rain, I joined a gym and am going to learn more about photographing rain - it does make for beautiful photos. As always, Marcie - love the image you've captured.

They look like a collection of very posh people at a stuffy cocktail party to me :D

I love this transparent assemblage, standing shoulder-to-shoulder, and easily melding with one another. Superb shot, Marcie.

Cool! I see a crowd waiting at the track for the train on a fresh, crisp, sunny morning.

love this....love how we always see people ( congregations) in things, doesn't matter what the things are, cactuses on a hill, bottles on a table... Inside or outside-vision is vision..thanks

i don't trust the short skinny one off to the side ... he looks suspicious

November 14, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCrashRyan

Wonderfully creative--so many forms and shapes come and go as I drink in the shot!

That glass glistens, and I don't quite know what the base is but it adds greatly to the image - they are almost floating. More of the same please!

Playful, artistic and very original – a wonderful spirit lifter on a gray autumn day!

In my view, you are a master of still lifes. I love how you pull together interesting objects and then create an interesting image. Glass is challengeing to shoot but you have succeeded so well - maintaining the translucence while still defining each shape. Beautiful color palette of cool bluish greens. On those days when the weather is just plain ugly, it is nice to have a challenging alternative.

Soooooo imaginative - who would have guessed that a group of bottles would present such creative possibilities.
