I Thought....

It was a garden filled with brightly colored summer flowers that I was seeking. If only - I could find that - I'd have found what it was I was looking for.

I thought...

It was a wallet filled with money..a closet filled with clothes and shoes..a glamorous career that simply filled me to the brimming.

I thought...

But then - there was this single red flower..in this simple red pot...sitting out on the simplest of front porches. The light was low. The air was baked warm by summer. And altho it wasn't at all what I thought I was looking for..it was what I found.

Right then and there it occurred to me. That - this is enough. That - this is more than I'll ever really want or need. That - this is simply perfect - just as it is.

To that - I gave up my seeking..and decided that all I really needed..I'd already found.

Marcie...I'm not sure what exactly drew me here tonight. I didn't even know I was looking for something...but here I am, swimming in your images & words--breathing in all the beauty that is you. I will walk away fuller, breathing deeper, easier.

Thank you.

I couldn't agree more. The longer I'm living, the more I see that "Less is More."

Lovely post.....I have learned to de-clutter, suppose it comes from moving so many times. Less is more in all walks of life. Congratulations being invited to be a curator on Jenny Doh. That is fabulous. You have much to share.

Lesson learned - that what we seek, we most likely already have.
