Spot of Yellow
August 27, 2012
Quite suddenly - I'm needing to seek out the primary color. What was so bright and abundant..is quickly fading. The light is dimininshing. Each and every day is getting shorter and shorter.
I'm resisting. I'm holding on. I'm not ready to let this summer season pass by.
I get down on my knees. I search and seek. I dig deep.
And there - somewhere in between - I find it. What remains. What still is. A spot of happy yellow. Evidence of a summer that was once in full bloom and blossom.
Once and again - proof. What we seek we find. The beauty that lies in the transitions.

Holding on the the last remnants of bright Summer colours is the wise thing to do, Marcie. I just love how this soft yellow you found lightens everything around it :-)
I hear that yellow is one of the last colors of summer...I guess that is why we seek it so desperately as the days grow shorter...trying to hang on to summer. Wonderful shot and of course very great introspective writing.
It's good to see how summer hangs on.
love it
I can relate to your words and image. Yesterday I experienced that same fading of the colors of summer, and I"m not sure I'm ready to see that. Your words, "What we seek we find" are so true!
Beautiful image Marcie and yes, I feel it too. For me, it's in the morning...a little bit darker a little bit longer each morning. Even though the temperatures still reach up into the
eighties, the air is cool on my face at 6:30am walking the dog. Onward to my favorite season as I too look for the last of the blossoms!
This post almost brought tears to my eyes. We had a rough summer, but I still don't want it to fade.
Beautiful, Marcie. We really DO find when we seek, don't we!
the yellow is definitely eye catching in this scene, nice capture!
I so love finding little treasures like this!
"The beauty that lies in the transitions..." How lovely to seek and find that beauty.
I know the feeling. We over here in the UK and hoping and hoping that there is an Indian Summer still to come. Time is ticking. Tick Tock.
Love this!
Beautiful shot
There is still a lot of summer here, but I am noticing that it is also beginning to fade away.
I saw my first fall leaf while walking to work on Monday.
I think I want to hold onto summer a bit longer.
You find beauty because it is in you; therefore you recognize it in nature.
Lively little bit of yellow showing against the more ordinary background--well seen and shot Marcie
a beautiful photo...this yellow flowers are like sunbeams.
beautiful work here!
Great spot, Marcie!
Nice weekend and greeting,
Anna :))

Lovely little wispy yellow flowers. I so relate to your post, in fact made mention of that in a post of mine today, my Flower Art Friday post is just below today's current post if you pop by.
