A Distant Twinkling
September 5, 2012
So easy to find beauty - when the sun shines. To find joy - where there is laughter and light. And happiness - in the bounty.
But the true challenge and gift - is finding it where there seems not to be any. When the rain falls. When it's dark and when there is no light in sight.
Another stormy morning. Another day of rain. Another opportunity to seek it out..and find it once again.
Candles - I thought. Blowing in the wind....lighting the new way. Little twinkiing eyes...winking and blinking and twirling about. It wasn't until I got in closer that I could see what it really was. Not candles. Not eyes. Just the same old gaggle of the same old geese..rendered different on this new day.

If anyone could see them, you could...and would. I love it.
Beautiful, Marcie. A singular image!
WOOOW... I love the magical light in this photo Marcie!!!
When there's another sunless day of rain, in what seems the everlasting dark, if you keep a look out, there is usually a sparkle, somewhere.......x
Je trouve le traitement un peu trop accentué cette fois.
i like the tiny white spots of the beaks
A rainy day creates the color palette you like. Nicely captured.
And that is what "seeing" is...the same old thing, rendered through new eyes.
Great job!
Great composition on this.
I struggle with this - the ability to find the beauty in the cloudy, overcast days, when there is no golden, magic light or the play of shadows. When my "go-to" subjects are rendered flat and uninteresting. When I have to look a little harder, dig a little deeper - when the path isn't easy and open and inviting. Thank you for the reminder that the beauty is there.
Having just closed my photo editing file in frustration - unable to find any beauty, I come upon your image, your words, and find hope and the invitation to look again, for the beauty. Thanks, Marcie..for your eye, and your heart...
Love the comp and mood!
