Awe Struck

Nothing could have perpared me for this scene. No words. No images. No nothing - could have foretold of its unfolding. Its grand majesty. Its presence. Its color. It's beauty. It's fortitude and strength.

Altho one who prefers the more intimate details that tell a story - it was hard not to want to capture this vision in its entirety. Out of the desert scrub the red rock cliffs and canyons left me dazzled and dazed.

Awe-struck.

How is it possible that there be such beauty? How is it possible that out of nothing and nowhere - there is this?

It is..it was  - no question or doubt - far more impressive than I can even begin to attempt to describe. Not with my words..nor with the aid of my camera's lens. I couldn't..I wouldn't dare to be that bold and brave. I could never do it justice.

Awe-struck. I was. I am.

I have not yet been to Sedona, but I did visit Moab and fell in love with the rocks and the sky and the Colorado River. Words cannot describe the space or the place.

This was so exciting to see. I have spent much time in southern Utah, Arizona and the general region. We lived in the west. This was like a trip home. Personally I think you did a remarkable job of capturing the essence of this wild open space that too few get to see. You have now shared it with so many. You might be interested in the books of naturalist Terry Tempest Williams. She is by far one of my most favorite writers. She uses a pen like you use your camera.......

Thank you for making the attempt to capture your awe - I think you did an amazing job of expressing the grandeur of the scene. You do have to ask the question - how can such beauty exist? How grateful we are to be witness.
